Sigh of relief...

IT has returned with my computer, completely re-imaged, brain-washed, de-fragged, and as obedient as a lobotomized astronaut. Apparently, the new corporate anti-virus software had a fatal conflict with some kernel drivers. That's a lot like getting a brain aneurism while starting a new self-defense course. At least it's not fatal in computers...
