Batching it for a few days...

Well, the old lady is off to her seminar, so the parenting of two girls, a dog, and a Zed is up to me for a few days. Somehow, having the freedom to watch "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" isn't nearly as much fun as having ginger_rose around. *sigh* I think the worst thing about being surrounded by women all the time is the "missing them when they're gone" part.

Just before the monsoon last night, Zed & I got Thelonius (my cacao tree) into the ground. He looks happy, and that Sri Lankan pest hasn't come back. He's putting out some huge, tender leaves. They look a little like fragile tobacco leaves, about the length and width of a legal-size envelope. Maybe I'll finally get the bananas in the ground next week.

Seconds before the monsoon, crowitch and spawn came over to talk LAN parties and Orchestra camp. This gave my beloved blender a chance to chew on some rum-laced bananas, but I got too excited about my new lime-squeezer (I can hear you laughing, ladybarnard) and over-did the lime juice. A banana daiquiri shouldn't taste like lime... Regardless, I think a good time was had by all.

So tonight, it's laundry & gaming - I think a player needs to die tonight. >:-) If only Larry was done painting my big dragon...

LOL... you think THAT's bad... try making a white russian milkshake in the blender... without vodka, kahlua or ice cream... ended up with whisky'd frozen coffee instead... didn't taste too bad though... LOL

I *am* laughing just picturing you and Zed giggling like loons over the lime squeezer. I've never seen two grown men get so excited about a kitchen appliance.

BTW...Jason wants your email and Zed's so he can grill you about forming a Guild Wars group. Just send them to me and I'll pass them on since I need them in my address book, too.

We've been watching this guy on the Fine Living channel, I think his name is something like Tony Abou-Ganim. He's their expert bartender, and they have little commercial-sized spots where he teaches you how to make a drink. He had a lime squeezer, and it just looked sooooooo cool when he'd completely wring out half a lime with one squeeze of his hand. We were raving about how cool it was, so that's why Zed went and found one.

Yeah, I guess you had to be there. It was a male bonding moment, akin to a big fire and circle of drums. ;)

I have seen this phenomenon in person. It is something to behold, I assure you. I mean it squeezes the lime completely dry, by nearly turning it inside out...it's a kitchen gadget made for men. Women would see it as one more dish to wash! :D

OH and the banana drink was fabulous! You're too hard on yourself and your concoctions. ;)
