With a little added slave labor (what else are children for?), most of the brush is cleared and the bananas are finally in the ground. I fetched the pieces needed for the sprinkler, but it will have to wait until tonight to be repaired. At least I hand-watered the exotics.
On the bright side, I made a killer Fromage Fort and the best pot of collard greens I've ever tasted in my life! The pot liquor was sublime.
Fromage Fort:
Allow all ingredients to come to room temperature before combining.
Start with one pound of bits of leftover cheeses
Cut into 1/2-inch cubes. Hard cheeses should be grated roughly.
Put cheese into food processor.
Add 2 tablespoons of butter
Add 1 clove garlic
Add 2 tablespoons of parsley
Add 1/4 cup of dry white wine
Blitz in processor for 2 minutes
Serve
I used a red wine, so my version came out amusingly mauve. It would be great on crackers or toast. For Atkins & South Beach dieters, celery and cicharrones work well, too. If it's too soft for your tastes, just chill for a few hours. It's an easy choice for leftovers from a wine- and/or cheese-tasting party, or a week at my house. It's powerful juju, and is sure to win friends and influence people.

Ohhh, I have to try that!
I know a super simple recipe for a really nice dip that will do just that!
You need:
- a package of instant onion soup (I always use Maggi Onion Soup in Broth (http://www.germandeli.com/mamezwfeart.html))
- 250g of low fat curd cheese
- 125g of low fat cream cheese (I always use Philadelphia)
- 200g of sour cream
Mix, preferably with an electric mixer. Put into a bowl and into the fridge for a few hours (until the onion thingies are nicely soggy). It's the quickest way to prepare a dip that I know of and it is really yummy. With bread or veggies or chips.
Cheese...
...now I am suddenly *very* hungry!
