In the wake of the storm
Aug. 26th, 2005 08:20 amWe're all fine here at my place. Katrina hit land and then turned left, aiming for Miami and taking a shortcut across the peninsula. This probably means nasty things for the people up in the panhandle that she'll hit in a few days. We have some mid-sized downed limbs around our neighborhood, but we never quite lost power. Our town has mostly buried power lines, which is quite a blessing in a storm.
We had a low-key hurricane party here, with Zed mixing Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters from
mstarfire's recipe and
crowitch and
violet_ashwood in attendance. My now-famous Fromage Fort made an appearance, as did
robyn_badfellow's new Dance Dance Revolution game pads. I made a fry-up of ostrich sausage with lots of veggies (again, based on
mstarfire's recipe) and we listened to Katrina buffet the house while we watched Dodgeball for some low-brow laughs.
The office is still closed, so maybe I'll do some yard clean-up this morning before gaming tonight.
Thank you to all for their thoughts and prayers, accompanied by big hugs from South Florida!

Pass my love to everyone. Hug the Edie for me.
