I actually remembered to set an alarm last night, and then I woke up this morning and didn't go back to sleep! Yaay!
I managed to get my sweats on before my morning cuppa and trudge out in the rain for the aerobic exercise that my body sorely needs. I grabbed hold of that lazy bah-stahd inside of me and whipped him into submission! Why is it that even when I lose that battle, it's always me on top? Funny how that works.
Work was ok, but the high point of my day was the long, extended simmering of turkey carcass and aromatics in water and leftover flat champagne. By suppertime, I had strained out the gibbage from this liquid love, diced the bits of meat, browned them with celery & shallots to make a lovely soup with half of the stock. Toss in some pasta, parsley, lemon juice, fresh pepper, kosher salt, and a dash of hot sauce...lip-smackin' liquid turkey.
The rest of the stock shall be frozen in order to invoke its unctious goodness on another drizzly day.
Yum!!
