ha'penny wine

For the last few months, I've had the mixed blessing of access to some unbelievably inexpensive wines. Some of them are complete crap, many are tolerable, and then there is the occasional gem. Today's find is a Württemberger Trollinger, a delightfully crisp, mildly sweet, light red (or dark rose) wine. It has the warmth and depth of a hearty pinot noir, but the brightness of a slightly sharp chardonnay. Citrus and berry in the front, and cherries linger on your tongue as the warmth of it glides down your gullet.

It doesn't have a year on it, but it can't be more than a handful of years old.

Oh, and for those of you in my country that were raised with silly and inconsistent alcohol laws, I work Newfoundland hours. That means that at my desk, it's 5pm. ;-)

Trollinger can be quite ok. Red Franconian is better, though. But rare, and rarely inexpensive.

Oh, a Domina is nice red wine, too. *g*
