I've been rather busy of late, and not spending my usual time in the kitchen, so last night I put my foot down. Dear
ginger_rose was under the weather, so I blew off pub night (Sorry,
warriorsway!) to make dinner.
The kitchen was a little Old-Mother-Hubbardy, so I had to get creative. I had some broccoli stems, a shallot, flat champagne, and some frozen snapper. It turned itself into a chowder (using ample amounts of butter and some leftover cream cheese), which was quite nice. Chowder puttanesca, perhaps? LOL
This morning, eggs poached in more of the flat champagne with some aromatics, served atop the chowder. Yum!
